It was parked on Indianwood Boulevard. The car was empty. Airbags had deployed on the passenger side. Officers approached a young woman nearby. She was 24-year-old Jazmine Jones. Then, they spotted another woman walking down Indianwood Boulevard. She was identified as the driver. Officers went to speak with her. She was 23-year-old Alexis Anderson. Alexis said she had one drink. She also had two shots that night. While talking, officers noticed she seemed impaired. They put Alexis in their car. She was taken back to the crash site. There, they would conduct tests. Officer Schwartz began with an eye test. Next was the Walk and Turn. Alexis failed to step heel-to-toe. She turned the wrong way. She also took the wrong number of steps. The third test involved standing on one foot. Alexis could not hold her foot up correctly. She put it down too soon. Officer Schwartz then asked her to recite the alphabet. She stopped between "F" and "R." Counting backward from 67 to 52 also proved difficult. As the next test started, Alexis asked the officer to arrest her. The test ended. Based on the crash, her condition, her drinking, and failing the tests, Officer Schwartz arrested Alexis. She was charged with drunken driving. She was cuffed and placed in the patrol car. She was then taken to the Park Forest Police Department. At the station, Alexis was read her rights. She agreed to breath tests. The results showed a blood alcohol content of 0.103%. This is over the legal limit. After processing, she was released.
