On June 23, 2025, Orange County deputies were called to a domestic violence situation at the Isles at East Millenia Apartments. A woman reported that her boyfriend, 57-year-old Todd Hannigan, had been smoking drugs and holding her against her will with a knife since the night before. When deputies arrived, they confirmed the woman's account and learned Hannigan was still inside the apartment, barricaded and armed. Over several hours, trained negotiators—who were also SWAT-certified deputies—attempted to peacefully resolve the standoff. Despite efforts to deescalate, Hannigan eventually emerged from a room and advanced toward deputies while armed with a knife. In response, two deputies fired their service weapons, striking him. Hannigan was transported to the hospital but later died. Timestamps: 0:00 - Bodycam 1 0:47 - Bodycam 2 1:25 - SWAT 1 1:59 - SWAT 2
