VIDEO: SERIAL THIEF PEST CONTROL CONTRACTOR CAUGHT ON COVERT CAMERA, ARRESTED He wasn’t looking for roaches. Instead, a pest control contractor inspecting a Deltona home on Friday was looking around for valuables to steal. Unfortunately for Kenneth Hall of “5 Star Pest Control” in Clermont, his target was a closet monitored by a hidden surveillance camera. And the jewelry and gift card he stole were left there by Volusia County Sheriff’s Office detectives. Hall (DOB 1/18/1973) was caught on video doing what detectives believe he’d done at least twice already at other Deltona homes in recent days: Rifling through his customers’ belongings. On Sept. 17 and Sept. 27, victims who had recently attempted to sell their homes through “Offerpad” each had a pest control company come to inspect their property as part of the process. Afterward, one victim noticed a diamond ring and wedding band went missing. The other discovered a significant amount of cash was gone. Detectives determined the 45-year-old Hall was involved in both cases and worked with Offerpad to set up a covert operation at another Deltona residence. A security camera pointed into a closet recorded Hall searching through dresser drawers and luggage. In addition to the jewelry and gift card he stole on camera, deputies found a bag of jewelry in his vehicle outside. Detectives traced that jewelry to yet another Deltona home, where the residents told deputies Hall had just completed an inspection. “The only pest in this case was Kenneth Hall,” Sheriff Mike Chitwood said. “Thanks to the proactive work of these detectives, that’s one less cockroach stealing from hard-working people in Volusia County today.” The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who may have hired Hall or his company for any inspection or pest control work to check for missing valuables and contact law enforcement if anything is missing. Please note: Hall’s company is 5 Star Pest Control LLC on Marsh Elder Street, Clermont – not a similarly named company out of DeBary or anywhere else. Thanks!
