On September 2, 2025, on Interstate 5 in Tehama County California, CHP officers responded to reports of a pickup truck traveling at high speeds while swerving across lanes and shedding debris. Officers observed the Ford Raptor R driving for several miles before coming to a stop on the shoulder, where the driver showed clear signs of alcohol impairment. The driver was immediately placed under arrest without incident. The driver's dog was transported back to his family's ranch in Cottonwood at his request. After further investigation Officers found out that the damage on the Ford Raptor R was caused by a friend colliding with a barn at the ranch the previous day and the facial injuries came from an ATV accident two days prior also on the ranch property. Chemical breath testing later indicated a blood alcohol concentration significantly above the legal limit the results were: BAC Level: 1848 hours - 0.31% 1851 hours - 0.33% The driver was transported to Saint Elizabeth Hospital for medical clearance before being booked into jail on the following charges: CVC 23152(a) – Driving under the influence of alcohol CVC 23152(b) – Driving with a blood alcohol concentration over 0.08% CVC 14601.2(a) – Driving while license suspended for DUI CVC 2800.1(a) – Misdemeanor evading a peace officer CVC 23578 – Sentencing enhancement for BAC of 0.15% or higher All individuals are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
