Volusia County Sheriff's Office Flight Medic Mike Miller went to DeLand Animal Hospital today for specific training on treating injured animals. Miller and the VCSO's other four flight medics are training to stabilize and transport K-9s who are injured while responding to calls. Air One and K-9s from our agency and other agencies work together on many of the same calls. We hope we never have to treat an injury, but we'll be prepared if needed.
