Police were called to a restaurant after a woman refused to pay her $189.63 tab in this #bodycam footage. Officers tried to de-escalate the situation and warned that continued resistance could lead to more charges, but the argument over the unpaid bill kept getting worse. Even after officers explained that getting the bill paid could help, she was still taken into custody for obstruction, according to the video. What starts as a simple call over an unpaid restaurant bill quickly turns into a bigger scene. Officers ask who can pay, try to speak with people on her phone, and repeatedly tell her the tab has to be handled before the night can move on. The footage shows her arguing with officers, struggling to unlock her phone, and calling different people for help. The people with her cannot cover the full amount, so officers keep trying to find any way to get the restaurant paid. According to the video, officers eventually check her PayPal balance and the restaurant agrees to accept the $166 available there to settle the tab. But officers also say she had already refused commands, would not put her hands behind her back, and caused a disturbance, so the arrest still moves forward. 00:00 - Officers Move In Over the Unpaid Bill 01:03 - She Starts Calling for Help 02:16 - Officers Say the Bill Must Be Paid 03:08 - She Is Placed in Handcuffs 04:12 - Phone Unlock Problems Slow Everything Down 05:47 - Officers Walk Her Outside 06:48 - She Keeps Calling Different People 08:46 - Officers Warn Her About More Charges 09:36 - Friends Cannot Help Cover the Tab 10:49 - Officers Ask Who Can Pay 11:23 - Officer Explains the $189.64 Total 12:51 - Arguments Continue From the Patrol Car 13:40 - Final Call to Get the Bill Paid 14:49 - Officers Say Obstruction Charges Will Stay 15:38 - PayPal Balance Is Used to Settle the Bill Subscribe.
