On August 31 last year, we received a report by Salisbury City Watch CCTV of an intoxicated driver in a Honda CR-V on Milford Street. Ashley Sherred, 33, of Southampton Road, Salisbury, was the driver. After failing to stop for officers after being spotted near Fisherton Street, Sherred has then driven to Bemerton Heath and then Wilton, driving recklessly and on one occasion colliding with a fence. He was tracked to Dairyhouse Bridge Caravan Site. Officers located the vehicle, at which point Sherred reversed into the officers’ vehicle multiple times in an effort to escape. He has then decamped from the vehicle and fled over a barbed wire fence out of the site. He was pursued by officers and located around 15 metres away in thick shrubbery, where he was arrested. In a separate incident on May 10 2024, Sherred was seen driving a blue Ford Fiesta recklessly in Pinewood Close, Bemerton Heath, doing wheel spins and handbrake turns. When the victim, a resident in Pinewood Close, came out of his property to see what was happening and to take issue with Sherred’s driving, Sherred deliberately mounted the pavement and collided with him. The victim, a man in his 40s, suffered a broken leg in the incident. Sherred then left the scene, however he was located by officers later that day and arrested. The vehicle was found the following day in a residential road. He was charged with the offences and remanded into custody. Today (08/08/25) Sherred was jailed for both incidents.
