In the end, the boat operator was arrested and charged with BUI, resisting arrest, and refusal to submit to a breath test. The wife was arrested and charged with two counts of resisting arrest, battery on the Good Samaritan, battery on a LEO, aggravated battery on a LEO, and providing false name to LEO. Full Report: A wildlife officer was on patrol at an area boat ramp just after sunset and observed a vessel approaching the ramp without navigation lights displayed. He also heard loud arguing coming from the vessel. Upon making contact, he found the boat occupied with two adult males, one adult female, and two teenage females. The operator and adult female appeared to be highly intoxicated. Officer Lange conducted a boating safety inspection, a BUI investigation, and arrested the operator for BUI. While placing the operator under arrest, he became belligerent and aggressive, and the adult female (wife of operator) and one teenage girl (16-year-old daughter of operator) became extremely belligerent and aggressive towards Officer Lange. A Good Samaritan at the boat ramp assisted Officer Lange and was attacked by the family members as well. Officer Barber arrived as backup along with Clay County Sheriff’s Office deputies.
