Arrest Report (Trooper Ellerbee): On 03/23/2026, I was patrolling United States Highway 27 (U.S. 27) in Gadsden County, FL, just north of South Main Street in my authorized law enforcement patrol vehicle, with agency jurisdictional markings prominently displayed on the vehicle, when I observed a white GMC Sierra pickup truck traveling southbound on U.S. 27 whose window tint appeared darker than legally allowed. The suspect vehicle was bearing Florida tag QAM. I activated my emergency lights and siren and conducted a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle as he pulled into the Exxon Gas Station located at 208 South Main Street, Havana, FL. I made contact with the driver and a female passenger. The driver identified himself as Reshard O. PERRYMAN and the female passenger identified herself as Chiquilla N. MCCRAY. Trooper Sanders soon arrived and took over the enforcement action of the traffic stop. I asked Trooper Sanders to ask the occupants to exit the vehicle so that I could deploy my K9 to conduct a free air sniff on the vehicle. Trooper Sanders walked back to my vehicle and advised that the occupants did not want to exit. I walked back to the suspect vehicle and asked the driver again to exit the vehicle. He rolled the windows up, put the vehicle in drive, and fled the traffic stop. I returned to my patrol car, activated my emergency siren, and initiated a pursuit of the vehicle as it fled southbound on U.S. 27 at speeds of more than 120 miles per hour. After traveling approximately 2 miles, I attempted an unsuccessful Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) on the vehicle. A second PIT maneuver was successful, which caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle as it rolled over multiple times. It came to a final rest on its roof in a ravine on the west shoulder of U.S. 27 just south of Rich Bay Road. Both occupants were given commands to exit the vehicle. After several minutes, both occupants exited the vehicle and were taken into custody. EMS was called for both subjects and both subjects refused treatment. Parkway Wrecker arrived on scene to recover the vehicle. As it lifted the truck from the ravine, a rectangular cardboard box with a picture of a mailbox on the front was located directly under the truck in the ravine. The box was not able to be seen while the truck was in the ravine because the truck was lying on top of the box. Inside the box, approximately 14 pounds of methamphetamine were located. The methamphetamine field tested presumptively positive. The window tint was tested on the front right window of the suspect vehicle. The window tint tested 4 percent.
