On January 3, 2022 around 10:20am a shocking discovery was made in Ventnor City, New Jersey. A concerned pair of neighbors spotted a woman slumped over the steering wheel of a 2015 Hyundai Elantra while shoveling snow on the 5800 Block of Burk Avenue. They quickly called 911. What followed was captured entirely on police bodycam footage, and what officers discovered raised immediate alarm. Lieutenant Louis Kabo of the Ventnor City Police Department arrived first and found 31-year-old Hannah Papendick unconscious and displaying signs of agonal breathing. Believing it to be a possible drug overdose, first responders administered Narcan on scene. Miraculously, Hannah regained consciousness, but the story didn’t stop there. This real-life bodycam footage shows the full sequence—from the initial medical response to the legal unraveling that followed. The vehicle matched the description of a crash earlier that day involving a city snowplow. After refusing to go to the hospital, Hannah was placed under arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence. She was eventually transported to a medical center for blood and urine samples under a telephonic search warrant issued by a local judge. Back at the station, officers uncovered an outstanding warrant and issued multiple charges, including DUI, reckless driving, and possession of a controlled substance.
