On June 1, 2023, Athens-Clarke County Police responded to an apartment complex where a group of people were consuming alcohol and creating a disturbance. When officers arrived, the group scattered in numerous directions. However, two officers were able to catch a 21-year-old woman as she was entering her vehicle, White Claw in hand. She was removed from the vehicle, arrested, and charged with DUI, obstruction of officers, littering, and having an open container. On February 5, 2024, she pled guilty to the open container and littering offense. The other two charges were dismissed. She was fined a total of $222.50.
