On March 8, 2025, New Mexico State Police Patrolman Saenz observed a vehicle allegedly traveling 52 miles per hour (MPH) in a 35-MPH zone. He initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, which was being driven by a 20-year-old woman. The police report indicates that Patrolmen Saenz could smell alcohol coming from the breath of the woman. She was asked to step out of the vehicle, where she admitted to consuming Tito's vodka shots. She was then asked to perform standardized field sobriety shots. At the end of the tests, she was placed under arrest for Driving While Under the Influence. Once placed in the back of the police vehicle, she stated name dropping that a family member worked for the State Police. She was also concerned about a passenger who was never in the vehicle. She provided two breath samples and the results were 0.17% BAC and 0.18% BAC. Her charges and the outcome of her case are discussed at the end of the video.
