#CrimeCamNow On May 29, 2024, a deputy from the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office pulled over a white Ford F-150 in Jacksonville, Florida. The deputy informed the female driver that she had an active warrant for her arrest in Citrus County. The driver became visibly agitated and accused the deputy of harassment, stating that she had been stopped multiple times before and released. She insisted this stop was unjustified. The deputy calmly explained that the warrant provided a valid reason for the stop and asked her to step out of the vehicle. She refused, shook her head, and suddenly drove off while the deputy was standing next to her truck. Deputies immediately initiated a pursuit as she recklessly sped away, disregarding traffic laws. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) quickly joined the chase. Officers attempted to perform a PIT (Pursuit Intervention Technique) maneuver to stop her, but the first attempt failed. A few miles later, FHP successfully executed a PIT maneuver, bringing the vehicle to a halt. The woman was arrested and placed in the back of a patrol vehicle, where she was read her Miranda rights. Medics arrived at the scene after she claimed to be disabled and made erratic statements, including that someone had impersonated her. When she requested to have her handcuffs moved to the front, her request was denied. She was transported to a local hospital for evaluation, where she was medically cleared. Following the incident, she was charged with reckless driving, DUI, aggravated fleeing and eluding law enforcement, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a stolen firearm.
