A high-speed police chase in Little Rock quickly turned into a dangerous Arkansas State Police pursuit involving a tactical vehicle intervention (TVI), felony fleeing, and a high-risk traffic stop that escalated into a gunpoint takedown. What began as a routine traffic stop for a no license plate vehicle on University Ave transformed into an 85 MPH chase through city streets, including the McDonald’s parking lot and Asher Ave, before troopers executed a precision TVI maneuver to end the reckless driving pursuit. Officers initially observed a silver Dodge Durango operating without plates and initiated a traffic stop on University Avenue. As they approached, the driver allegedly displayed a glass pipe with white residue, escalating the encounter into a felony narcotics investigation. Instead of complying with commands, the suspect fled, triggering a full urban police pursuit captured on bodycam footage. The vehicle sped northbound on University Ave, cut through the McDonald’s parking lot (4111 S University Ave), crossed connecting lots, and accelerated eastbound onto Asher Ave, reaching approximately 85 MPH. Arkansas State Police assumed control of the pursuit near the Asher Ave/Roosevelt split and performed a Tactical Vehicle Intervention near the 2700 block of Asher Ave, disabling the suspect vehicle.
