Officers from the Secaucus Police Department arrived at 400 Park Plaza Drive shortly after 6:10 PM following reports of a theft in progress. Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement detained two female suspects and initiated a shoplifting investigation. During the course of the investigation, officers discovered that one of the individuals had an outstanding warrant out of the local jurisdiction for driving with a suspended license. Both suspects were ultimately taken into custody and charged with shoplifting under statute 2C:20-11 and conspiracy under statute 2C:5-2. The suspect with the active traffic warrant posted a $1,000 bail and received a summons with a future court date for the theft charges. The second suspect was processed and subsequently transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty
