Deputy incident report: On 8/16/2024 at approximately 0546 hours, I, Deputy D. Johnson observed a U-Haul bearing Arizona Tag: AG15385 heading eastbound on Rex Road near Amberly Rd in Rex, GA. The vehicle was confirmed to be stolen out of Clayton County Police Department. I activated my marked patrol car’s emergency lighting equipment near the intersection of Rex Rd and Homestead Drive in order to conduct a traffic stop on said vehicle. However, the vehicle made a right turn onto Homestead Road failing to maintain lane and began to flee at a high rate of speed throughout pursuit. I initiated a pursuit of the vehicle. The vehicle continued on Homestead Road making a left at the bottom of the hill without using a turn signal and failing to stop at the stop sign. The vehicle continued to flee failing to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Homestead Road and Homestead Circle. The vehicle failed to maintain lane again at the intersection of Homestead Road and Minnow Road while making a left onto Minnow Rd. While on Minnow Road the vehicle failed to maintain lane by driving on the wrong side of the roadway. Upon reaching the intersection of Minnow Rd and Stagecoach Rd the vehicle failed to stop sign, recklessly driving at high rate of speed without regard to other possible traffic and continued straight onto Coatsworth Drive failing to maintain lane by driving on the wrong side of the road. The vehicle then continued eastbound on Coatsworth Drive failing to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Coatsworth Drive and Wilkerson Road. After crossing over Wilkerson Road, the vehicle shortly after crossed over into Henry County, GA. The vehicle continued driving recklessly at a high rate of speed on Coatsworth Drive through a residential subdivision in Henry County, GA. The vehicle then made a left turn onto Wayne J Stokes Drive from Coatsworth Drive, failing to stop at the stop sign. The vehicle continued north-eastbound on Wayne J Stokes Drive making a left turn on East Atlanta Road, failing to stop at the stop sign. The vehicle continued northbound on East Atlanta Road, failing to maintain lane by driving on the wrong side of the road and failing stop at the stop sign at the intersection of East Atlanta Road and Rex Road. While approaching the intersection of East Atlanta Rd and Panola Road, the vehicle failed to maintain lane by driving on the wrong side of the side. The vehicle then made a right turn onto Fairview Road from East Atlanta Road continuing to flee at a high rate of speed. The vehicle continued eastbound on Fairview Road failing to stop the red light at the intersection of Fairview Road and Panola Road. The on-duty supervisor asked if I could get the vehicle off the road, and I stated that I will attempt. I conducted a pursuit ending technique to the rear driver side quadrant of the vehicle to prevent further possible risk of danger and/or seriously bodily to the public and others near the intersection Fairview Road and Overbrook Place in Henry County, GA. The vehicle began to spin and a came to a stop. I was able to see the driver of the stolen the U-Haul bearing Arizona Tag: AG15385, identified as OLIVER, AARON, WYMAN (DOB: 10/17/1984). The driver exited the stolen U-Haul as I was exiting my vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. However, I drew my agency issued service weapon and began shouting verbal commands for him to get down on the ground. Mr. OLIVER, AARON, WYMAN complied by laying on the ground and I was able to handcuff said offender. Mr. OLIVER, AARON, WYMAN shortly after complained of head pain and I requested an ambulance to render aid to Mr. OLIVER, AARON, WYMAN. After conducting a GCIC/NCIC check on Mr. OLIVER, AARON, WYMAN (DOB: 10/17/1984) via Clayton County Dispatch, it was determined that he was wanted out of Clayton County Sheriff’s Office for Violation of Probation, Criminal Trespass, Battery-Family Violence, and Aggravated Assault. In addition, Mr. OLIVER, AARON, WYMAN is wanted out Henry County, GA for Violation of Probation. Mr. OLIVER, AARON, WYMAN was transported to Piedmont Henry Hospital for medical care and was discharged and transported to Clayton County Jail. The stolen U-Haul was impounded by Tara Wrecker Service.
