On December 8, 2024, Rio Rancho Police Officers were dispatched to an intersection in Bernalillo, New Mexico. Bernalillo Police advised Rio Rancho Officer Parra that a hit and run accident had occurred in Rio Rancho and the victim managed to stop the at-fault driver in Bernalillo. Officer Parra made contact with the 36-year-old driver of a Kia SUV, who admitted to consuming alcohol earlier in the day. She was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which concluded with her being arrested for Driving While Under the Influence. She was taken to the Rio Rancho police station, where she submitted to an evidential breath test. The results of her 2-breath samples were 0.24% and 0.22% BAC. Her charges are listed at the end of the video. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
