On Saturday, February 17, 2024, deputies responded to the airport ticketing drive after receiving a report of a vehicle that drove up a curb and struck a wall. Upon arrival, a deputy located a white Chevrolet Cruze sitting on the sidewalk. The deputy found a female driver seated in the vehicle with two small children, both one year old, in the backseat. While speaking with the driver, the deputy noted she had glassy eyes and detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath. The driver agreed to perform Standard Field Sobriety Tests and performed them poorly. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported for processing. A chemical breath test was administered, revealing a blood alcohol concentration of 0.17. The two children were medically cleared at the scene by first responders and later released to their father. The driver was issued multiple citations, including Operating While under the Influence (1st Offense with Passenger Under 16 Years Old), Operating Without a Valid License, and Failure To Keep Vehicle Under Control.
