On September 19, 2024, Morristown Police were called by the Morristown Parking Authority after the driver of a red Jeep damaged a parking gate and ticket dispensing box. Officer Steele located the Jeep and made contact with female driver. Officer Steele immediately suspected the woman to be intoxicated and asked her to perform standardized field sobriety tests. She was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Morristown Police Station. She submitted to an evidential breath test and the result was 0.24% BAC. She was charged with (1) Driving While Under the Influence of Liquor (DWI); (2) Driving After License Suspended; (3) Failure to Provide Insurance Card; (4) Failure to Provide Registration Card; (5) Careless Driving; and (6) Reckless Driving. On December 5, 2024, she pleaded guilty to the DWI charge. All of the other charges were dismissed. She was fined $383, ordered to spend 12 hours at an Intoxicated Driver Resource Center, and her license was revoked for 340 days. In addition, she was required to install an Ignition Interlock Device on her vehicle for 3 years.
