🚨 100 MPH Pursuit & TVI Maneuver — Jackson County, Missouri (July 28, 2025) Missouri State Highway Patrol Corporal McDonald reported seeing a white Chevrolet Malibu on I‑435 with expired registration belonging to a different vehicle. When the trooper attempted a stop, the driver — James Trygg — accelerated to 100 mph and fled northbound. Trygg repeatedly brake‑checked the patrol vehicle as the trooper attempted to position for a tactical vehicle intervention (TVI). The pursuit continued past I‑70 and onto Truman Road, where Trygg braked hard, causing the patrol car to strike the rear of the Malibu and spin it briefly. Trygg then merged back onto I‑435 and continued fleeing. As the pursuit approached US‑24, the trooper attempted another TVI but was unsuccessful. Trooper Craig arrived as secondary. On the exit ramp to US‑24, the trooper executed a successful TVI, causing the Malibu to spin out, cross a grassy area, and come to rest blocking the ramp. Trygg fled on foot toward I‑435 but fell as troopers closed in. He was taken into custody at 0132 hours. A needle was found in his pocket, and Trygg stated he fled because of his felony warrants. Records confirmed two active Jackson County warrants for Tampering 1st Degree and Possession of Controlled Substance (Amphetamine).
