Winter Park police have released body-worn camera footage from a February 19, 2022 incident at a wedding reception that ended in a fatal officer-involved shooting. 39-year-old Daniel Knight was attending his niece’s wedding when officers were called to the venue due to reports of disorderly behavior. Bodycam footage shows Knight becoming physically aggressive with officers, striking one officer and knocking him to the ground. A taser was deployed but appeared ineffective, after which an officer fired seven rounds. Knight was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The injured officer was treated and released. This video presents a chronological, factual breakdown of the incident, the immediate aftermath, and the legal outcome, including a federal civil lawsuit that was later dismissed.
