On April 9, 2024, Santa Fe County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to a section of Interstate 25 after a report of a wrong way driver. Deputy Moore located the vehicle facing northbound in the southbound lanes. The 35 year-old woman was out of her vehicle relieving herself. She was completely unaware of her location or the fact that he was traveling on the wrong side of the freeway. She refused to perform standardized field sobriety tests and was immediately arrested. At the sheriff's office, she submitted to an evidential breath test and the result was 0.22% BAC. She was transported to jail and charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated and Careless Driving. Online court records show that the charges were dismissed by the prosecutor, but the charges will likely be refiled at a later date.
