On December 8, 2022 in Florida, officers responded to a Walmart regarding a suspected shoplifting. Walmart employees had noticed a female shopper acting suspicious on their security camera system. The woman was at the self-checkouts with a friend, and they observed the woman placing several unscanned items into a Walmart bag and then leaving the store. The Walmart employees stopped the women at the exit and escorted them to the asset protection office. The women became irritated when confronted about the incident and left the building, remaining outside, where police officers found them soon thereafter.
