Female Officer Ambushed With an AK-47 and 2.000 Rounds A confrontation after a night of drinking turned into a terrifying police ambush involving an AK-47 and nearly 2,000 rounds of ammunition in Superior, Wisconsin. After an altercation with his girlfriend, Caitlin Sutherland, Dylan Wallace did not flee the area. Instead, he returned home, put on body armor, and armed himself with multiple rifles, handguns, an AK-47, and a massive amount of ammunition. When Officer Catherine Snape spotted Dylan and ordered him to stop his vehicle, the suspect suddenly opened fire. Snape was struck by multiple rounds, and her police radio was damaged, leaving her nearly unable to communicate with fellow officers. Meanwhile, Dylan reportedly remained concealed, waiting for responding officers to arrive. The suspect later drove into Superior High School, carried weapons inside, and barricaded himself inside a classroom. Fortunately, the incident happened in the early morning hours, when no students or teachers were inside the school. After hours of confrontation, SWAT officers and negotiators eventually convinced Dylan to put down his weapons and surrender. Police later recovered nearly 2,000 rounds of ammunition, multiple firearms, and several loaded magazines. Remarkably, Officer Catherine Snape survived the ambush. One bullet passed through her forearm, while two other rounds were stopped by her body armor and police radio. This video reconstructs the entire case using police bodycam footage, surveillance video, and investigative reports—from the domestic violence incident and AK-47 ambush to the school standoff and Dylan Wallace’s eventual surrender.
