Trooper C. Morphis (F-38) and D. Menotti (F-39) attempt to stop a Chevy Camaro for speeding. The Camaro flees at up to 150mph into Mississippi. Report: On 05/10/24 at approximately 11:05 PM, I, Trooper Walker Morphis, was patrolling U.S. Highway 65, when I observed a vehicle that appeared to be traveling at a speed greater than the posted speed limit. I activated my front radar and observed the vehicle traveling at 99 mph in a posted 55 mph zone. After observing this violation, I attempted to conduct a traffic stop. As I maneuvered my vehicle to the shoulder of the roadway, the operator of the suspect vehicle accelerated and began fleeing, traveling north on U.S. Highway 65 toward Lake Village. I then activated my emergency lights and siren and pursued the vehicle. I also advised Troop F dispatch that I was in pursuit of the vehicle. The operator of the suspect vehicle traveled recklessly at speeds of upwards of 150 mph, while traveling in and out of traffic. Once at the junction of U.S. Highway 65 and U.S. Highway 82, the operator turned their headlights off. Trooper Menotti attempted to get into position to perform a TVI on the suspect vehicle but was unsuccessful. The suspect then began traveling east on U.S. Highway 82 toward Mississippi. Trooper Menotti and I continued pursuing the suspect vehicle at speeds of upwards of 150 mph until we reached the Mississippi State Line, where the pursuit was terminated. Troop F Dispatch notified the Greenville Police Department and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office regarding the pursuit and the description of the suspect vehicle. They searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect vehicle. I was able to obtain a Mississippi license plate number of 2791N11 that was displayed on the suspect vehicle. #arkansasstatepolice #mississippi #policechase #crash #pitmaneuver #cars #dashcam
