On December 30, 2023, a California Highway Patrol officer operating Lidar on Interstate 15 near Halloran Road in Barstow, California, clocked a tan Dodge Charger traveling at 112 mph. The officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver, Yasmin Patricia Ramirez, failed to yield and fled at high speeds. This led to a pursuit, during which the officer had difficulty keeping up and had to cancel the chase multiple times as the Charger dangerously overtook other motorists at speeds exceeding 130 mph.
