On September 19, 2025, Rio Rancho Police Officer Olivas observed the driver of a vehicle make an illegal U-turn. He initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, which was being driven by a 20-year-old woman. The police report indicates that Officer Olivas could smell alcohol coming from inside of the vehicle. As a result, he called for Officer Roskos, who specializes in Driving While Under the Influence (DWI) investigations. When Officer Roskos arrived, he had the woman exit her vehicle in order to perform standardized field sobriety tests (FSTs). The woman stated numerous times that she had only consumed 1 Modelo beer. However, due to her performance on the FSTs, she was placed under arrest for DWI. She was transported to the Rio Rancho Police Station, where she provided 2 breath samples. The results were 0.18% and 0.17% BAC. Her charges are listed at the end of the video. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
