On January 10, 2026, Rio Rancho Police Officers were dispatched to a domestic violence call at a fast-food restaurant. Officers made contact with a 44-year-old woman who admitted that she had an argument with her husband and slapped him. She also admitted to consuming alcohol. She was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests and was ultimately arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Careless Driving, and Battery Against a Household Member. At the police station, she provided two breath samples, which registered 0.15% BAC and 0.14% BAC. Her case is still open and her next court date is June 30, 2026. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
