⚠️ Viewer Discretion Advised: This video contains real police body cam footage and may include scenes of violence or distressing content. It is intended for educational and journalistic purposes only. The woman, Carolyn Rodriguez, frequently records public police activity and was filming ("auditing") officers during an investigation into a hit-and-run incident when the encounter occurred. Footage released by the Fort Worth Police Department shows the officer repeatedly asking her to move. When she asked why and didn’t comply, the officer “threw her face down on the ground and handcuffed her,” resulting in injuries she describes as “bruises everywhere” and being knocked unconscious. Rodriguez indicated that she recalled being tackled from behind; she later woke in a hospital, chained to a bed and handcuffed. Investigations & Outcomes An administrative investigation determined that Officer Matthew Krueger used unjustified force during the arrest and he was subsequently terminated from the department. A city council executive session was held to discuss the incident, and Rodriguez said she plans to sue for civil damages. The officer, Matthew Krueger, was later fired after an internal investigation found his use of force unjustified. Rodriguez, a self-described “cop watcher,” says she plans to sue the city for civil rights violations. A secondary more detailed video regarding this incident will be coming soon as well.
