It was going too slow on Main Street. The car also swerved across lanes. Sergeant Jordan approached the vehicle. He stopped it on E Main Street. The driver was Paige Dominy, age 20. As he talked to Paige, he smelled alcohol. She also seemed impaired. He asked if she had been drinking. Paige denied drinking anything. Deputy Cory Alcantar arrived to help. Paige was asked to exit her car. She then performed field sobriety tests. First, she took the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test. Sergeant Jordan saw her eyes didn't follow smoothly. Her eyes also jerked at the farthest point. They started jerking before the 45-degree mark. He did not see vertical nystagmus. Next was the Walk and Turn test. Paige turned incorrectly. She also did not count her steps correctly. Finally, she did the One Leg Stand test. She did not lift her foot properly. She put it down before finishing the test. After the tests, Paige could take a breath test. The preliminary breath test showed a BAC of 0.132%. This is much higher than the 0.02% limit for those under 21. Her driving, the alcohol smell, failed tests, and the breath test led to her arrest. She was charged with driving under the influence. Sergeant Jordan took her to the Pullman Police Department. She first asked for a lawyer. After talking with her lawyer, Sergeant Jordan explained implied consent. Paige then agreed to provide breath samples. Her first test showed a BAC of 0.122 and 0.123. Her second test showed a BAC of 0.119 and 0.122. Sergeant Jordan then gave Paige a ticket for DUI. She was released pending her court date. 0:41 My favorite quote, You are being ultra safe, it looks like. 1:15 Now she did that eye test perfectly. 14:50 Absolutely ZERO respect for the officer minimizing, downplaying If you enjoyed this BodyCamBust video.
