On June 21, 2025, deputies with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office initiated a high-speed pursuit after receiving reports of a vehicle driving recklessly, running a red light, and nearly striking a family vehicle. A K9 deputy spotted the suspect vehicle entering the city of Fond du Lac on STH 23 and clocked it traveling 102 mph in a 35 mph zone. When the driver refused to stop and headed down the wrong way on Interstate 41, a deputy made strategic vehicle contact to push the suspect into a ditch and eliminate the immediate danger to oncoming traffic. According to the sheriff's office, the driver continued to resist by revving his engine and spinning his tires in a desperate attempt to disengage his vehicle and escape. Deputies forced their way into the vehicle to take him into custody. Investigators identified the driver as 49-year-old Steven Juhas of Ripon, Wisconsin. Following the incident, a judge ordered a $50,000 cash bond for Juhas, who faced numerous criminal charges related to the reckless pursuit.
