#news #police #arrest #cops Report: On 02/25/2022, An Officer was at the Racetrac attempting to buy a Coca-cola, when the General Manager approached me. He stated there were 2 panhandlers he wanted to be barred and pointed towards a male and female walking through the gas pumps. Officer made contact with them. They were barred by the GM for 2 years. The officer went inside the Racetrac to get the managers information when he stated there was another panhandler he wanted to be barred and pointed towards a black male wearing grey sweatpants with a strip going up the leg, grey or black hoodie, and a green hoody underneath, the officer approached him and told him to come here and that he was being barred. He then took off on foot. The officer chased him on foot while giving descriptors and directions of travel to our dispatch. The officer chased him and lost visual due to the hillcrest of the St. When other officers reached the intersection. While officers set up a perimeter I was taken back towards Racetrac to get my vehicle. While returning the officer remembered that the suspect had dropped 2 can-like objects near the beginning. The officer returned there to find 1 can of tire fix w/hose and 1 large can of Tirefix. They had been run over and had contents leaking out over the bottles. This ruled out pulling fingerprints but the officer took them back to Racetrac. The officer asked the manager if the suspect had paid for the items and he stated that the suspect had not paid. The officer was given the price of the items. An officer called the officer that chased the suspect. He stated that he believes officers have found where the suspect ran to and they were surrounding the residence. Residents permitted officers to search the house for the suspect. Officers located him in a bedroom. The officer identified him as the one who ran and he was arrested. The suspect was taken to the CCSO Jail.
