May 3, 2025 At approximately 2:40 a.m., officers responded to a disturbance outside a billiards venue on Federal Highway involving a man and woman reportedly arguing in the parking lot. Upon arrival, both individuals—later identified—were still engaged in a heated verbal dispute. Officers immediately separated the parties. The male stated he had arrived to pick up a friend and the woman, who he claimed had consumed alcohol and had been arguing with others in the lot. He said he positioned himself between her and another woman to prevent a confrontation and maintained the situation remained verbal. The woman was visibly upset and emotional. Officers noted signs of intoxication and detected a strong odor of alcohol. She stated that while standing near her car, the male approached her, grabbed her arms, and pushed her against the vehicle. She also claimed he damaged her phone during the incident. Officers observed redness on her upper arms consistent with her account. A witness at a nearby business reported seeing the woman repeatedly strike the male subject. Another bystander stated she saw both individuals physically involved but could not confirm how it started. A third witness told officers it appeared the male was the aggressor. As officers attempted to speak with the woman again, she ran toward the male while yelling. She was safely restrained to prevent further escalation. Due to her visible intoxication in a public area, her disruptive behavior, and witness statements, the woman was taken for medical evaluation. After receiving clearance, she was transported to the county jail.
