According to Albany Police, 35-year-old Rakim Tillery shot a victim around 1:00 p.m. before fleeing southbound on I-87. When the troopers conducted a traffic stop, Tillery immediately opened fire, prompting both troopers to return fire, fatally striking Tillery. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers Missale and Raymond were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Westchester Medical Center and later released. The shooting victim was taken to Albany Medical Center for treatment.
