It really helps us do original reporting like this. 🔍 Episode Overview: Around 1:43 a.m. on April 27, 2025, Officer Stephen Molenda of the Villa Park Police Department noticed a 2005 Volkswagen sedan swerving wildly west on Roosevelt Road. Folks in nearby Elmhurst had called in about a reckless driver. Molenda radioed dispatch that this car fit the bill. The swerving went on, so he flipped on his lights to pull it over. He walked up and met the driver, Juana Cerriteno. As they talked, alcohol stench hit him, along with clear signs she was impaired. She fumbled for her license and papers. An open booze bottle sat right there in the car. Her son and daughter rode along as passengers. He figured she was drunk behind the wheel, so he asked her to do sobriety tests. Juana said no to them all. With the wild driving, the booze smell, her sloppy state, that open bottle, and her flat refusal, Molenda arrested her for DUI. He cuffed her hands, loaded her into his cruiser, and drove to the station for booking. The kids stepped out of the car. Tow truck came for it, since drinking had touched them all. Her daughter mentioned they'd hit Allstate Arena that night. At the station, officers read her the motorist warning. She wouldn't give good breath samples. They finished processing her and let her go until court.
