The suspect, later identified as 30-year-old Josie Amman, fled the store after the child told her mother, who immediately confronted him. Although no cameras covered the aisle where the assault occurred, surveillance footage showed the mother chasing Amman and later captured him at the store’s Subway restaurant. Investigators subpoenaed records from Subway, which linked Amman’s debit card to the purchase. Five months later, police confronted Amman at his workplace. During questioning, he repeatedly denied involvement, claiming the man in the video was not him and that someone else may have used his debit card. When officers moved to arrest him, Amman attempted to flee but was subdued with a Taser and taken into custody. Following his arrest, he complained of feeling sick, a common reaction after being restrained. Amman was charged with felony first-degree sexual assault of a child under 13, as well as misdemeanor resisting an officer.
