-Tulsa, OK. -March 01, 2023. Tulsa police shot and killed a man March 1, after responding to a call about a burglary north of the University of Tulsa campus. Officers responded to the call around 12:30 p.m. at a home near 3rd and Delaware. Police say the homeowner saw two people in the home while watching surveillance video and called for help. Police found a man and woman inside the home. Police say the man, 32-year-old Stormy Fuller, had a sawed-off shotgun. “I was a little freaked out because just as soon as the officer said, ‘Watch out, he’s got a shotgun,' I got me and my wife behind the opposite facing side of our van,” the owner of the house broken into told 2 News. The owner preferred to go by the name "David" and not use his last name. He said he got to the house minutes before police arrived. After around ten minutes Fuller started running and shot at officers while making his way around the block and into the backyard at another home. Police say Fuller again pointed the gun at officers and two of them fired at him, killing him. “When I was inside I heard a loud bang, and I looked out and I thought my dog was messing around outside my house and he looked back at me with the same expression. And I heard another bang, and automatically thought gunshots.” During and for a few hours after the shooting, TU notified students, faculty and staff to shelter in place or avoid campus until given an all-clear. The all-clear came in around 2:30 p.m. Swasho said burglaries are becoming more common in the neighborhood, requiring added protection for residents. “I definitely have security around my house, and my dog is one of those things. So yeah I’m definitely concerned for my neighbors, and we all try to keep an eye out here for each other.”
