They answered a call about a bad car crash. It involved a 2007 BMW 530 near Main Street. The car looked wrecked. A tree lay fallen. A utility pole blocked the road. Airbags had popped inside. Officer Roman walked up to the driver. Officer Goez checked on the passenger. Officer Pizzanelli stood by. The driver was 20-year-old Evelyn. She seemed awake but drunk. Her passenger lay still at first. The team called for medics right away. Firefighters came too. Evelyn said she had been drinking. She tried to explain the crash. She shivered in the cold night air. So they led her to a patrol car. She sat there warm. Medics checked her out. They put her passenger on a stretcher. An ambulance sped him to Hackensack University Medical Center. Police arrested Evelyn. They took her to the ambulance. She went to the same hospital for tests. Hackensack Auto Body and Towing hauled the BMW away. They followed John's Law rules. PSE&G crews fixed the broken pole. Public works cleared the tree. They swept up the mess. A quick search of the car found an open bottle. At the hospital, Evelyn agreed to a blood test. Results came back later. Her alcohol level hit 0.200%. That's twice the limit of 0.08%. Officers gave her tickets. One for driving drunk. Another for underage drinking and driving. Plus reckless driving. Careless driving. And the open container. Court papers show her trial on July 11, 2023. The judge ruled her guilty on drunk driving. And careless driving too. She got an ignition lock on her car for seven months. She spent 12 hours in a driver program. Fines added up to $830. The other charges got dropped in a deal. If you enjoyed this BodyCamBust video.
