In Golden, Colorado, David Roy MacBean — the volunteer chief of the Inter-Canyon Fire Protection District — was sentenced to eight years in prison after pleading to two counts of theft over twenty thousand dollars and one count of embezzlement. Using the department credit card and bank accounts, MacBean drained $647,351.59 in district funds on electronics, musical equipment, and computers, including a single month in which he ran up more than $42,000 in online shopping charges. ––– Disclaimer: This video is a dramatization based on real events.
