After being searched and reunited in the back of a patrol car, the pair treated it like a gossip session, stressing more about immigration than their crimes. By then, karma had already cashed in: Carla Stephanie Soto Aranita and Gennesse Michael Floris Reyas were hit with felony retail theft, possession of anti-theft devices, resisting without violence, and conspiracy—charges that tied them to theft rings across Jacksonville, Tampa, Orlando, and Miami.
