A defense attorney with 38 years behind him and two weeks left until retirement walks into a prison to see a client — and never makes it past the checkpoint. Why? Because of what staff found sewn into the lining of an eyeglass case. He was later arrested, accused of much worse. 🎥 In today's copyrighted documentary, we report on an incident that occurred in Milan, New Mexico. Corrections staff say they opened a soft eyeglass case the defense attorney carried in and found Suboxone strips hidden in the lining. He left his bag, files, phone and laptop at the checkpoint and walked out; a police officer detained him in the parking lot, where he spent the next hour arguing his own case in handcuffs — claiming a client's relative had dropped the glasses at his office, fingerprint the case, it's a setup, he was two weeks from retirement. Court records identify him as Brian Anthony Pori, 65, a former assistant federal public defender and longtime criminal defense attorney in New Mexico. Prosecutors dismissed the state contraband charge in May. But the FBI still had the devices seized that day, and Pori had signed a consent form letting agents search them. Investigators reported finding illegal images on the laptop. He was arrested on a federal warrant in Fort Worth, Texas and ordered held without bail, the judge citing a late-May flight to Mexico City on which he canceled his return ticket. In June, a grand jury indicted him on two additional counts – allegedly smuggling drugs into the jail. His law license is suspended. He denies wrongdoing and is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS: 00:00 Suboxone Eyeglass Case 00:17 Lawyer Detained At Jail 01:11 Miranda And Denial 02:17 Jail Search Details 03:07 He Walked Out And Left His Laptop 04:45 Outrage And Setup Claims 05:16 Fingerprint Debate 08:25 Medical Check And Calm Down 08:45 Feds Search Devices 09:17 Indicted And Held Without Bail 📺 MORE LIKE THIS — watch the latest Breaking Bodycams documentaries: 👉 https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL89-g15XsVc0WxE8UISQXCrCctoEPo46v 📌 ABOUT BREAKING BODYCAMS Breaking Bodycams covers law enforcement encounters across the country, with a heavy focus on the Southwest and New Mexico.
