On September 18, 2022, Marion Police were called about a vehicle hitting a bicycle, which caused a flat tire on the vehicle. Officer Rostorfer located the vehicle at a local gas station. An 18 year-old female was behind the wheel when Officer Rostorfer approached the driver side door. The woman explained that she was the designated driver for her mother and her 22 year-old sister who was celebrating her birthday. Officer Rostorfer observed an open container of alcohol in the driver's side door, so the woman was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests. While she was being placed under arrest for DUI, her older sister slapped her mother and was arrested for Disorderly Conduct. The 22 year-old was taken straight to jail, but the 18 year-old was taken to the police station and given the opportunity to provide a urine specimen. She refused the test and then resisted arrest when she was told to stand up so that she could be taken to jail. Each sister's charges and the outcome of their individual cases are discussed in the video.
