On January 13, 2022, a routine trip to a Walmart in Crockett, Texas, turned shocking when Rebecca Lynette Taylor allegedly offered to buy a woman’s child for $250,000. What began as an unbelievable moment soon became a serious criminal case. When police questioned Taylor, she deflected with unrelated chatter, but her composure cracked once a warrant was issued. Her assistant later revealed Taylor had been drinking tequila that day and was increasingly unstable, often carrying large sums of cash and behaving erratically. The disturbing Walmart encounter appeared to be the result of a deeper personal spiral. Ultimately, Taylor was charged under Texas law for the attempted purchase of a child—a third-degree felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine—before being released on a $50,000 bond with restrictions on contact with minors. *Video Credits and a Huge Shoutout to:* YouTube Channel: Daily Dose Of Crime ( @itsdailydoseofcrime ) We extend our heartfelt thanks to Daily Dose Of Crime for generously providing this wonderful and amazing police bodycam footage to the community.
