On October 20, 2023 around 9:33 PM in Middletown, New Jersey, officers responded to Thomas Street for a report of a school bus on a homeowner’s lawn with its alarm blaring and a possibly intoxicated driver. They found the bus with dirt on the rear consistent with a recent impact, contacted the driver—identified as Carolyn Gorski (52)—who appeared unsteady, slurred, confused about her location and route (Belford ↔ Atlantic Highlands), and admitted to drinking. An open “BeatBox” alcoholic beverage (11.1% ABV) was located in the bus. Standardized field sobriety tests were conducted (HGN/“blue pen,” walk-and-turn, one-leg stand), during which the driver showed multiple signs of impairment; she was arrested and transported for an Alcotest 9510 breath test, providing two valid samples with a recorded BAC of 0.199% (well above the 0.08% limit). She was charged with 39:4-50 (DUI), 39:4-96 (Reckless Driving), 39:4-97 (Careless Driving), 39:3-10.13 (Commercial Vehicle DUI), and 39:3-29 (Failure to Exhibit Documents), then released to her son after processing. All individuals are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court. #Bodycam #DUI #SchoolBus #PoliceVideo #NewJersey #PublicRecords #LawEnforcement Real World Police provides unbiased and authentic footage of incidents captured on body cams.
