Incident Overview - In March 2022, Vigiland D’Haiti, a 39‑year‑old cheerleading coach in Clermont, Florida, was arrested at his home in Winter Garden on a Lake County warrant. He faced multiple counts of lewd and lascivious molestation involving victims aged 12 to 15. These allegations stemmed from incidents dating as far back as 2013 and continuing through 2021, and were first brought to authorities’ attention in January 2022. D’Haiti was the co-owner and head coach of Rush All Stars gymnastics/cheer gym. He also coached at high schools throughout Central Florida — including Cypress Creek High School, where he worked as a technology teacher. He was placed on administrative leave after the investigation began. Following his arrest, he was released on a $30,000 bond. Further Legal Developments In August 2022, D’Haiti was indicted on federal charges, including possession of child pornography, production of child sexual abuse materials, and entitlement of a minor to engage in sexual activity. In July 2023, he entered a guilty plea to one of those charges: coercing a minor to produce sexually explicit content. A presentencing investigation was ordered, and sentencing was scheduled for October 10, 2023. In October 2023, a federal judge sentenced him to 29 years in prison. Around the same time, a federal lawsuit was filed by one of the victims (referred to as “Jane Doe”) against the now-shuttered Rush All Stars gym, as well as the US All-Star Federation and Varsity Spirit. The lawsuit alleges negligence, failure to protect athletes, and a lack of enforcement of safety protocols.
