Palm Beach County, Florida — Police responded to a vehicle stopped in the middle of an intersection with the driver appearing unconscious and unresponsive. Officers boxed the vehicle in with patrol cars for safety after observing that it was running and in gear. After attempts to wake the driver by knocking on the window, yelling, and vigorously shaking the vehicle were unsuccessful, officers broke the window to reach the driver and check on their safety. Once the driver was removed, officers reported detecting the odor of burnt cannabis and observed signs including grogginess, dilated pupils, and bloodshot eyes. The driver agreed to perform field sobriety exercises and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of DUI after officers determined the driver performed poorly.
