It really helps us do original reporting like this. 🔍 Episode Overview: On January 7, 2024, around 4:00 PM, Trooper Jason Slaughter headed to West Shore Drive. He was responding to a crash. Two mailboxes were destroyed near Soundside Boulevard. When he got there, he met Deputy Curt Black. Black worked for the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office. Deputy Black told Slaughter the Mercedes driver wasn't helping. Slaughter then spoke to the driver. She was identified as Christine. Troopers told Christine to get out of the car many times. She would not leave on her own. They had to pull her from the vehicle. Once out, she wanted to talk to her husband. She would not answer any questions from the police. The Trooper asked Christine if she had been drinking. Christine said she had not had any alcohol. The police saw signs that she was not okay. They asked her to do some tests to check her sobriety. She said no. Christine crashed her car. The officer smelled booze. She would not do roadside tests. They arrested Christine for drunk driving. She would not give breath or blood samples. Cops searched her car after the arrest. They found a mug. It smelled of wine. Christine faced charges after her arrest. Deputies took her to the Santa Rosa County Jail. She was booked at 5:10 PM. The charges included DUI with property damage. She also resisted an officer, but without violence. Christine got released the next day at 5:00 AM. She posted a $1,000 bond.
