[Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only] Georgina, Ontario, Canada — Over the span of a week, York Regional Police officers twice observed a man flee at high rates of speed in the Town of Georgina. The first incident occurred on July 10, when a red Nissan Qashqai fled from police during an attempted traffic stop. A week later, on July 17, police spotted the same vehicle and a helicopter began tracking it. Video shows the suspect vehicle racing southbound on Highway 404, running multiple red lights and even driving the wrong way. Despite police deploying a tire deflation device, the vehicle continued to travel on its rims before officers were able to make intentional contact to stop it in the Town of Aurora. The driver, Dakota Drury, was taken into custody without injury. A subsequent search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered a loaded handgun, and investigators allege the suspect was impaired by a drug at the time of the arrest. At the time of the offenses, the accused was out on bail for separate charges. Dakota Drury, 21, of North Bay, faces multiple charges, including Flight from a Peace Officer, Dangerous Operation, Impaired by Drug, and numerous firearms-related counts.
