On August 30, 2025 in the early afternoon near Mammoth Cave in the Franklin Mountains of El Paso, Texas, a routine hike turned into a life-or-death emergency. A hiker fell off a cliff and was left badly injured on a sheer mountainside, trapped in terrain so rugged that ground crews alone couldn’t get him out in time. El Paso COMSAR fought their way to the victim and stabilized him as best they could, but there was only one option left: an emergency air extraction. In this video, you’ll see real bodycam footage as a UH-60 Black Hawk from Air and Marine Operations’ El Paso Air Branch hovers roughly 180 feet above the cliff, lowers a rescue specialist into the rocks, and attempts a high-risk hoist with the hiker and multiple rescuers on the line. Watch to the end to see exactly how this rescue plays out, how the air and ground teams work together, and what happens once they race him to the trauma hospital. No gore – just raw, intense rescue footage and real heroes at work. 👉 What do you think about this incident? Let us know in the comments. Don't forget to subscribe!
