On February 15, 2025, officers with the Bloomington Police Department were out on a call for service when the driver of a silver Hyundai nearly hit Officer Krasney. Officers used their police radio to alert other officers to be on the lookout for the Hyundai. Officer Tribley located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle was being driven by a 20-year-old woman. Officer McCall approached from the passenger's side of the vehicle and noticed that there was a lit joint in the vehicle. When the woman was asked about it, she threw the joint out the window and it rolled under another vehicle. More green leafy substance was located inside of the Hyundai. The woman was removed from her vehicle, detained, handcuffed, and then transported to the Bloomington police station to conduct standardized field sobriety tests. She submitted to a portable breath test and the result was 0.000% BAC. She was then transported to the local hospital for a urine specimen collection. The police report indicates the laboratory analysis revealed 7.7ng/mL of THC in the woman's urine. As a result, she was charged with (1) Driving Under the Influence; (2) Illegal Transportation of Cannabis; (3) Illegal Window Tint; (4) Failure to Use a Seatbelt; (5) Having a Headlight Out; and (6) Failure to Yield or Reduce Speed when Approaching Emergency Vehicle. On July 9, 2025, she pleaded guilty to the DUI charge. As part of a plea agreement, all of the remaining charges were dismissed. She was assessed a total of $2,003.50 in fines and penalties. In addition, she was ordered to complete substance abuse treatment and she was placed on probation for 2 years.
